What you can do with Beat Maker

A few common ways people use Beat Maker, from a first drum loop to a full exported track.

  • Make a beat from scratch

Tap cells on the drum grid to lay down kicks, snares, hats, and claps across the 16 steps, then press Play to hear it loop.

  • Generate a full track with one click

Pick a key, tempo, and mood, then press Generate for an instant, coherent loop of drums, bass, chords, and melody.

  • Compose a melody in the piano roll

Click or drag across the pitch-and-time grid to draw a melodic line, with an optional snap-to-scale so every note stays in key.

  • Arrange a song from chords

Choose diatonic chords for your key, assign one to each bar, or press Auto-fill for a ready-made progression that plays as sustained notes.

  • Save, share, and export

Copy a shareable link that restores your exact composition, or download the track as WAV audio and MIDI notes for a DAW.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need any music knowledge to use this?
No. Press Generate for an instant beat, or tap cells on the drum grid to make a beat yourself. Every control is labeled and the app works with no prior knowledge.
What sounds does the app use?
All sounds are synthesized in your browser with the Web Audio API โ€” no downloads, no accounts, and nothing is sent to a server.
What are the different tracks for?
Tracks are layers that play together: drums (rhythm), bass (low notes), chords (harmony), and melody (the top line). Toggle any track on or off to hear just the others.
How do I keep or share my composition?
Use Copy link to share an exact copy of your track, or Download WAV / Download MIDI to save the audio or the notes for use in a DAW.
Can I change the key and tempo?
Yes. Pick any key (major or minor) and set the tempo in BPM. Generation and playback follow the current key and tempo.
