How It Works
Everything happens on your device — there is nothing to configure and nothing to learn. The first image you add triggers a one-time download of the AI model, after which every cut runs instantly and completely offline.
-
Add photos
Click the drop zone, drag photos over it, or paste from the clipboard. JPG, PNG, and WebP are accepted, and you can queue several at once.
-
Automatic cutout
The AI model removes the background from each image as it enters the queue — no settings, sliders, or manual masking required.
-
Export or copy
Keep the transparent PNG, or composite the cutout onto a solid color or a gradient. Download at the original resolution or copy the result straight to your clipboard.
What you can do with Image Background Remover
A few of the jobs this tool makes painless.
-
E-commerce product cutout
Drop a product photo and download a transparent PNG ready for a marketplace that requires clean backgrounds.
-
Batch social media photos
Queue several headshots or product shots at once and process them all without repeating the workflow per image.
-
Compositing onto a solid color
Replace the removed background with an exact solid color so the cutout matches your brand palette without opening another editor.
-
Presentation-grade gradient backdrop
Place the cutout on a two-color linear gradient so the slide visual looks polished without post-processing.
-
Privacy-sensitive processing
Process a personal photo with no network upload. After the one-time model download, everything stays on your device.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. All processing happens in your browser. Your image is never uploaded or shared — finished results are only stored on your own device (local storage) so they survive a page reload, and you can delete them at any time. The only network access is the one-time AI model download, which contains no image data.
Why does the first image take longer?
The first image triggers a one-time download of the AI model from a public CDN — about 44 MB, or about 176 MB on devices that use the higher-precision model with GPU acceleration. Your browser caches it, so subsequent images (and future visits) are fast.
Which image formats are supported?
JPG, PNG, and WebP are accepted. The result is exported in the format you choose — PNG (transparency preserved) or WebP — and the ZIP option packages it in that format too.
How well does it handle hair and fine edges?
The AI model produces soft, edge-aware cutouts that handle hair and thin objects well for typical photos. Results are fully automatic — complex scenes with busy backgrounds may occasionally need re-processing.
Can I process multiple images at once?
Yes. You can add up to 500 images to the queue; they are processed one by one and each finished result is downloadable independently. When you are ready, the Download all button in the queue header packages every finished result into a single ZIP archive and shows a live progress bar while it prepares the archive.
