What you can do with Image Editor
A few of the jobs this tool makes painless.
-
Exact-dimension product photo
Resize a product photo to exactly 1200×1200 px so it meets your marketplace's image requirements — with the aspect lock keeping proportions when you only set one side.
-
Crop with a fixed aspect ratio
Drag a 16:9 frame across a landscape photo and apply the crop so it fits a cover format precisely, keeping full quality at the original pixel density.
-
AI background removal to transparent PNG
One click cuts the subject out of a product shot; the preview shows it over a checkerboard, and the exported PNG keeps the transparency for any backdrop.
-
Compress an image to WebP
Export a diagram as WebP at 70% quality and watch the real estimated file size update live, so your website loads faster without visible degradation.
-
Fix an accidentally sideways photo
Rotate a photo 90° and flip it horizontally to get the orientation right before sharing — each step is individually undoable.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Every operation — resize, crop, rotate, background removal and export — runs entirely in your browser. Your image never leaves your device; only the background-removal model is downloaded from a public CDN once and then cached by your browser.
What is the background-removal model and is it free?
The app uses the briaai/RMBG-1.4 model (about 44 MB in its quantized form, about 176 MB when your browser supports GPU acceleration). It is fetched from the Hugging Face CDN on first use. The model is licensed under the BRIA source-available license, which allows non-commercial use only.
Which file formats can I open and export?
You can open JPG, PNG, WebP and BMP images up to 20 MB. You can export as WebP, JPG or PNG. JPEG does not support transparency — if you export a transparent image as JPEG, the transparent areas are filled with the background color you choose in the export panel.
What is the quality slider for?
The slider (0–100) sets the compression level for WebP and JPEG exports: 100 keeps the most quality and produces the largest file, lower values shrink the file with more compression. PNG export is always lossless, so the slider is disabled for it. The estimated output file size updates live so you can pick the best trade-off before downloading.
What happens when I undo or start over?
Every applied operation (resize, crop, rotate, flip, background removal) is added to a history you can step back through with Undo, step forward with Redo, or clear entirely with “Start over”, which returns the editor to the original image.
