Use cases
Common ways to use this tool:
- Quick calculations
Evaluate arithmetic and mixed expressions instantly without a calculator app.
- Trigonometry
Compute sine, cosine, tangent and their inverses for angles in radians.
- Logarithms and powers
Work with natural and base-10 logs, square roots, and exponentiation.
- Checking homework
Verify the result of a formula or nested expression before submitting it.
- Prototyping formulas
Test a formula quickly before hard-coding it into a script or spreadsheet.
Frequently Asked Questions
- How do I use this app?
- Type or paste a math expression into the Expression panel, or click an example chip. The result appears automatically. Use Clear to start over.
- Is this app free to use?
- Yes. The app is free to use and does not require an account.
- What happens to my input data?
- Your expression is evaluated entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server.
- Which functions and operators are supported?
- Trig (sin, cos, tan, asin, acos, atan), logs (ln, log), power (sqrt, pow), rounding (floor, ceil, round), utility (abs, min, max), the constants pi and e, and the operators + - * / % ^ with parentheses. See the function reference below.
- Why am I getting an error or unexpected output?
- Most issues come from malformed expressions or unsupported functions. Check the function reference for supported names, verify your syntax, and use Clear before trying again.
