CPU/GPU Part Comparison
Compare any two CPUs or two GPUs head to head: how much faster one is, which leans better for gaming, and a 3D V-Cache note - from our own benchmark index, processed on your device, nothing leaves your tab.
Pick two CPUs or two GPUs and see which one is faster and by how much. Results come from simplified performance indices (higher means faster) built from our own benchmark runs - a quick, rough guide, not a measurement of your machine.
Head-to-head
Gaming estimate (single-thread-weighted index)
%
These two perform similarly in our benchmark data. Cooling, memory, the games you play and the rest of your build may matter more than the measured difference.
Productivity (multi-core)
Our catalog has one index per part and no separate multi-core score, so we do not claim a productivity winner. Multi-threaded work depends on core and thread counts - run the CPU Benchmark on your own machine for real multi-core numbers.
What you should know
Estimates from our benchmark data - real games vary. Run the CPU Benchmark on your machine for real numbers.
Indices come from our own benchmark runs (not user submissions) and are mapped onto the CPU and GPU benchmark scales used on this site. The CPU index is weighted toward single-thread-heavy game performance. The percentage is (faster - slower) / slower, so swapping the parts never changes the answer.
Processed on your device - nothing leaves your tab.

How to Use the Part Comparison
How to use
- Choose CPU vs CPU or GPU vs GPU.
- Pick Part A and Part B from the lists.
- Read the verdict: the percentage gap, the gaming lean and, for CPUs, the X3D note. Use Copy comparison link to share it.
What the tool reports
- How much faster one part is than the other, in plain percent.
- A band: essentially tied, slight, clear, major or huge advantage.
- A gaming lean and, when an X3D chip is involved, an honest cache note.
Good to know
- Gaps of 3% or less are shown as a tie - no winner is declared.
- The estimates use simplified indices, so treat results as rough guidance, not a precise prediction.
- For your own hardware's real numbers, use the CPU and GPU benchmarks linked under the tool.
When to use the Part Comparison
Common situations where a quick head-to-head of two parts comes in handy:
-
Choosing between two CPUs
Torn between two processors at similar prices? See how much faster one is in our gaming-weighted index before you buy.
-
Choosing between two graphics cards
Compare two GPUs and see the percentage gap, so you can judge whether a step up is worth it.
-
Is an X3D chip worth it for gaming?
Put an X3D processor next to a non-X3D one and read an honest note on what the extra cache can and cannot do.
-
Is an upgrade worth it?
Compare the part you own with the one you are eyeing to see whether the gain is small, clear or major.
-

Frequently asked questions
- How is the comparison calculated?
- Each part has a performance index from our own benchmark runs. We take the faster index minus the slower one, divided by the slower one, and show the result as a percentage. Differences of 3% or less are called a tie.
- Is the Ryzen 7 5800X3D faster than the Ryzen 5 7600X?
- In our gaming-weighted index the Ryzen 5 7600X is about 5.1% ahead. The 5800X3D has a large 3D V-Cache that can help in some CPU-limited games, so real games vary - run the CPU Benchmark on your own machine for real numbers.
- Why is there no multi-core percentage?
- Our parts catalog stores one index per part, weighted toward single-thread-heavy gaming performance. Rather than invent a multi-core figure, we leave it out and point you to the CPU Benchmark for your own machine.
- What does the X3D note mean?
- X3D processors carry a large 3D V-Cache that can improve performance in some games, especially CPU-limited ones. The benefit varies significantly by game and is usually much smaller in productivity workloads, so it is a note, not a score.
- Is my data uploaded anywhere?
- No. Your selections and the parts data are processed on your device - nothing leaves your tab when you use this tool. The site itself uses standard analytics, as on all other AppDoesIt pages.
