When to use Voice Recorder
Common ways to use Voice Recorder:
-
Record a voice clip and download it
Enable the microphone, press Start, then Stop and Download original to save a clean audio file recorded entirely in your browser.
-
Record several takes in one session
Record, stop, and repeat to build a list of clips. Replay, export, or delete them individually, and clear the list when you are done.
-
Export a clean MP3
Trim the edges, enable peak normalize, choose MP3 and a bitrate, and export a smaller, cleaner file — produced entirely in the browser.
-
Check your microphone before recording
Pick a microphone and watch the live level meter move with your voice to confirm the right device is capturing sound.
-
Pause, resume, and time a recording
Pause mid-sentence and resume the same take while the timer keeps track of how long you have recorded, excluding paused time.
Voice Recorder FAQ
- Is my audio uploaded anywhere?
- No. Recording, playback, trimming, normalization, and MP3/WAV export all happen locally in your browser and device. Nothing is sent to a server and no account is required.
- What file formats can I export?
- You can download the original recording in the browser's native format, or export a processed version as MP3 or WAV.
- Can I record more than one clip?
- Yes. Each recording you stop is added to a clip list where you can replay, export, or delete them individually, and clear the list when you are done.
- Can I trim or clean up a recording?
- Yes. Set a trim start and end point and enable peak normalization in the export panel to cut down and level the audio before exporting as MP3 or WAV.
- My microphone isn't showing up — why?
- Check the site's microphone permission in your browser, close other apps that use the mic, reconnect the device if needed, and then enable the microphone again.
